What to expect in the PLAY-ALONG BACKING TRACKS
Our We Wish You A Merry Christmas backing tracks download comes with two tracks. You will get one .mp3 track with the melody and the backing, and the other .mp3 track will be just the accompaniment (so you could even do some improvising)!
All of our play-along backing tracks are especially arranged for each instrument. They are based upon the music from our Book of Christmas Carols so you if you have this book, you don’t need to download the sheet music – it will be in the same key!
If you are playing from our Book of Christmas Carols then play through We Wish You A Merry Christmas twice, and watch out for the 3-bar + 2 beats introduction!
What you will hear on this track is a splendid orchestra with plenty of percussion, and choir! The opening is tuned percussion (of the twinkling variety) with pizzicato strings, followed by a drum fill with swinging brass. Next in the line-up is a short passage with the choir, and then the dramatic full ensemble, with strings to calm us down at the very end. It’s really quite exciting.
Please note: your instrument will have its own sound on your recording (e.g. if you play recorder, it will have the recorder sound!).
Each music download includes two tracks – one with accompaniment only, and the second with accompaniment and melody.
