This is one of the best learn to play recorder books out there. It really does help you not only learn the recorder but how to read music too. The tunes chosen are all well known too….

I play the recorder as a kid and now at my 40’s, I’m picking up the recorder again. I love the idea of learning to play the recorder with tunes from Famous Classics. It’s so rewarding to play a tune and recognise the classic piece of music in it. The book is really good graded with technique exercises that helps you work rhythm and difficult finger changes, and after that you have a classic piece of music to practice all of it. The book helps you to progressively learn music and a little bit of music theory. The book comes also with downloadable MP3 files with the tunes, so you can listen how the tunes sounds or play along. I’ve tried different methods for recorder and I find this one the most interesting and enjoyable.
